Appeal Process
SFAC offers an appeal process should an applicant or awardee wish to appeal a decision made by SFAC. Appeals will be limited to administrative errors or procedural issues that may have affected an applicant’s ability to submit or have their request fairly reviewed. Appeals may be considered for the following reasons:
- Clerical Errors – Incorrect data entry, technical submission issues, or other verifiable mistakes.
- Missed Deadlines Due to Extenuating Circumstances – Such as documented medical emergencies or other significant, unforeseen personal issues.
- Misinterpretation of Guidelines – Cases where an applicant can demonstrate they misunderstood critical application components or criteria or submitted an incorrect budget due to lack of clarity in the guidelines.
- Committee Process Errors – Failure by SFAC to follow its own procedures, lack of responsiveness, or procedural inconsistencies.
